Process quality
From IPAPI
Process quality is a measure of the fitness of use of a process outcome as well as the ability of the process to reliably and predictably produce the same outcome.
IPAPI Definition
Process Quality - The ability of a process to reliably and predictably produce an outcome that meets the needs of the consumer of the process's outcome.
Overview
Dr. Joseph M. Juran defined quality as "fitness of use" as defined "by the user." This definition is as important to process quality now as it was to manufacturing in the days following World War II.
For a process to have high quality the "needs and wants" of the consumer of the process must be known and the process must deliver on those needs and wants. The designing of a process against these needs of the consumer (the intended outcome) is essential in creating process quality.
Further, the process must reliably and predictable deliver on the intended outcome. One of the key measures in determining process quality is the points of failure factor of the process.
